    In Astrology, there are 4 special angles that speak to who you are. I like to refer to them as the "4 Pillars that hold the chart together". The Ascendant (Rising Sign) is representative of your personality and life path. Opposite that, the Descendant is your shadow self and partnerships. At the very bottom of your chart is the Imum Coeli. This represents your roots that are created from your home life, past memories, and inner feelings. These are the roots that branch off into your Midheaven at the top of your chart. The Midheaven represents your public persona, accomplishments, and what you strive for in life. 

    So, what does it mean to have a Leo Midheaven? I'm going to start off with this one because it is my personal placement. Therefore it is the one that resonates with me the most and the one I am most familiar with. Having Leo on the Midheaven means that your Rising Sign is either in Libra, Scorpio, or (on the rarest occasions) in Sagittarius. The natural position for Leo on the Midheaven is for a Scorpio Rising. So, just be aware that if you have Libra Rising that your 10th House is still carrying the energy of Cancer. 

    I personally have Scorpio Rising. So, a lot of this is going to be based on my perspective of the placement being a Scorpio Ascendant. When someone is a Scorpio Rising, they most likely won't enjoy a lot of attention. Scorpio Ascendants are often labeled as shy or mysterious. We prefer being unique individuals and having a sense of freedom. This is mostly because Aquarius is the Opposite of Leo. If Leo represents the public image we build in life, then Aquarius represents the roots that we are coming from. The one thing that Leo and Aquarius have in common is that they both stand out. However, Aquarius is about standing out in a group. It's the rebel. This is why most Scorpio Risings seem very quiet or difficult to get to know. Growing up, we were given the freedom to be unique and eccentric. That individuality can come from various different experiences in childhood. There could have been only one parent to connect to. There could've been a parent who had to go away for work, which limited the time they were able to connect to their mother/father. Or on the negative side, there could've been more of a friendship than a parent/child connection, a chaotic home environment, or a need to assume the role of a parent at a young age. Either way, these experiences taught the individual how to be independent and to get to know more about themselves. So, a Scorpio Rising isn't going to follow others if they don't feel it is right in their hearts to do so. We are quiet and reserved because we don't want to fit in. Independence is the most important part of this placement and we know our self-worth. Most Scorpio Risings feel like a rebel deep down. These are people who came into this world to be themselves. The difficulty with this placement is detaching and withdrawing from the world instead of showing off that inner uniqueness. Scorpio Risings can remain a dark mystery by shutting themselves off from the world and having difficulty letting others in. So, the Leo Midheaven might be slightly easier to express for a Libra Rising. This is why its natural placement is for a Scorpio Ascendant. The Midheaven is meant to be a challenge because it's what we are destined to work towards in life. 

    Once this individual is able to show others who they are, they are able to have what they really want in life. A Scorpio Rising ultimately wants power and prestige. Though this isn't necessarily a selfish power. In fact, most Scorpio Risings have dreamed about helping others from an early age. Whether that means healing others, inspiring others, leading others, entertaining others, or standing up for others. However, we also want recognition for what we were able to create for others. So, there is a natural give and take in the public sphere of our lives. These people want to be admired just as much as they want to admire others. In their presence, you will feel that Scorpio Rising is very loyal, generous, and warm-hearted. You will also feel that they are very dominant and demand respect. That is the royal nature of the Leo Midheaven being expressed through their public persona. A Leo Midheaven is meant to be a bright light for the world. Through being themselves and expressing their individuality, they are able to lead and inspire others. This gives them a magnetic aura that makes others love being around them. We love being optimistic and making others feel better. This is why you will typically see a Scorpio Rising owning their own business, managing a company, being a famous celebrity, or motivating others in their career life. Many Leo Midheavens most likely grew up with special talents such as singing, dancing, acting, writing, etc. This is because, when Scorpio is Rising, Pisces is in the 5th House of Creativity, Recreational Activities, Fame, and Speculation. Pisces is a creative, daydreamy, imaginative sign. This makes these individuals natural artists who need a creative outlet. This is why it makes sense that they are meant to "run the show".

    Some great examples are Prince, Janet Jackson, Missy Elliot, Tom Cruise, Jim Carey, Mike Tyson, Katy Perry, Julia Micheals, and even Adolf Hitler. Prince is a great example. He was known for having a very flamboyant and eccentric persona. Prince was a singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, dancer, actor, and filmmaker. He was very innovative in combining a variety of different genres of music. This shows a variety of creative interests with Pisces being in the 5th House and the ability to make money off of doing a variety of different skillsets with Gemini in the 8th House. Most importantly though, his unique entertainment skills show his Aquarius roots working with his Leo Midheaven. Tom Cruise does a lot of insane stunts to entertain the public. *Want to know more about Tom Cruise? Click Here Mike Tyson is another great example of a Leo Midheaven. His fighting style is really about his North Node and Rising Sign in Scorpio and his Mars in Gemini. However, the impact he makes on his fans and opponents speaks to his Leo Midheaven and Aquarius roots. He expresses his individuality through his presentation and there is no question that he is a star. Tyson's Leo dominance and charisma are very much present. I do recognize that Adolf Hitler was a horrible human being who committed unspeakable acts. However, he is a great example of Leo Midheaven. Now, Hitler wasn't a Scorpio Rising. He was actually a Libra Rising. So, he is an exception to the traditional setup. However, his Leo Midheaven can be obviously noted as he did use his charm and charisma to gain a position of power. He used his Leo Midheaven to influence the Nazi regime to fulfill the plan he set out to do. This is an example of unhealthy Leo Midheaven and Aquarius roots. He wanted to rebel and cause chaos because he felt that no one understood him or accepted him for what he was capable of achieving. Hitler had an unhealthy thirst for power and attention in the public.
